The 35th
Part of the WV Proud Collection
This is a design that doesn’t need to shout — because the story speaks for itself.
West Virginia didn’t ask for permission; she just went ahead and became a state anyway.
Born right in the middle of the Civil War, on June 20th, 1863, she broke away from Virginia, carved her name into the Union, and took her rightful place as the 35th star on the flag. Not added — earned.
This design honors that moment of mountain-made independence.
On the front?
The 35th.
Printed quiet, over the heart — like a badge, like a whisper, like something only true Appalachians understand.
On the back?
A 35-star flag, vintage and worn like the pages of a family Bible. But look close. The final star — the 35th — isn’t a star at all. It’s home. The shape of West Virginia, stitched in place like it always belonged there.
And underneath it, the date that made us ours:
June 20, 1863.
This isn’t just a shirt. It’s the story of the only state that’s 100% Appalachian and 100% proud.
